Diligence stood out from the start with a professional pitch and evaluation of our website, what was good, what wasn’t and how they could make the changes and improvements we wanted. There were no buzz words or baffling industry talk, it was a very refreshing experience. We’re now 12 months down the line and couldn’t be happier with our choice. We have a brand new site and we have seen some amazing growth in sales and visits which we wouldn’t have obtained without the advice and guidance of the Diligence team. To sum up, we wouldn’t be where we are now without Diligence. Thank you.

Overview

Phase Electrical are a wholesaler of electrical goods with several branches throughout the south-east as well as an ecommerce website with a very high level of turnover. They were recognised as one of the 1000 companies to inspire Britain in 2014 by the London Stock Exchange.

In 2014 Phase Electrical approached Diligence because their consumer facing ecommerce website (www.electrical2go.co.uk) was not generating the required level of income and was in need of drastic improvements.

Aims

  • Increase monthly revenue to make the site self-sustaining
  • Improve usability of website across all devices
  • Improve efficiency of order management processes so staff can cope with the expected increase in orders

Our Role

After securing the relationship in January 2015, the 'Diligent Ones' analysed and went about creating a plan based on evidence from analytics and website monitoring tools. The primary goal quite simply was to increase the monthly revenue to make the site sustainable. Our 'Diligent Ones'  combined their skills with the E2Go teams knowledge of their sector to generate a battleplan to increase traffic, reduce bounce rates and increase sales conversions.

A brand new responsive redesign was launched towards the end of 2015, resulting in a dramatic improvement in mobile traffic and sales. In addition to this our full digital outsourcing service means we have been able to consistently work on improving the adwords campaign, pushing the site up the organic rankings and improving the conversion rate of visitors across the board.

The Results

At the start of this process the average monthly revenue was approximately £50,000. Within 2 years this had increased to just over £150,000 per month. We are well on course to hit the increased £200,000 target which will ensure the site is generating enough income to be highly profitable for the client. In addition we have implemented several time saving improvements to the administration of the site and the order management process to enable the EGo team to handle the increase in orders without requiring a corresponding increase in staffing levels.
Update: We have now achieved the targetted  £200,000 per month level of revenue for www.electrical2go.co.uk. An increase of approximately 4x since we first started working for them. Not only that but during this time we have also been asked to completely overhaul the clients trade website and create an app to help promote their offers.
